Mazak Corporation’s ASRS department is looking for a Material Handler to join the team on first shift. The Material Handler will work with the Mazak Purchasing Agents on a daily basis regarding suppliers and shipments. They will also keep records to help with inventory control, handle invoices, and help with loading and unloading of shipments in the receiving department.

Scope and Responsibilities:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Work with Mazak purchasing agents on a daily basis.

V100 Line Helper - Florence, KY - Temporary

V100 Line Helper - Florence, KY - Temporary

Mazak is searching for a 2nd shift temporary Line Helper to assist the V100 operators. This position assists the operators to allow them to focus on the part quality on the line as well as keeping the machines loaded and ready to go into production. We utilize dual pallets on each machine so this work can be done outside the running machine to ensure we can maximize our run times and keep utilization high. This individual needs to be highly motivated and work well in a team environment to help maximize this effort.

Scope and Responsibilities:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
  • Ability to assist the operator to set up the machine using an overhead crane to position jig bases on the pallet for cutting.  This requires using general hand tools, tape measure, wrenches to align and bolt down to fixture.
  • Bending over, going up and down the steps to the machine area, standing is required for this position to assist with these types of set ups and general work on the line.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs for taking tooling in and out of tool carts.
  • Will be required to use our coolant fill totes and fill up pre mixed coolant and push down to each machine for fill up on the machine sumps.
  • Will assist with any clean up on machines once parts are finished running.  The use of brooms, squeegies are used for this purpose in and around the machine when necessary.
  • Familiar with general hand tooling along with pneumatic air tools for use on the line.
  • This line consists of 4 large machining centers that are in a bay approx. 400 ft long.  Walking between the machines will be required to assist where needed thru out the shift.

Education/Certification:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • Vocational school or manufacturing background is a plus

Scope and Responsibilities:

Swiss Machine Applications Engineer – Florence, KY

Mazak Corporation is looking for a Swiss Machine Applications Engineer for the Florence, KY headquarters. The Swiss Application Engineer will be expected to review customer parts and drawings, select equipment, and develop the cutting tool package as well as specify collets, guide bushings, tooling, holders and coolant flow.

Scope and Responsibilities:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
  • Managing turnkey projects, demonstrations, and other customer related projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget
  • Conducting pre-sale activities and reviews including customer visits, evaluation of opportunities, machine assessment and recommendations, part processing recommendations and development of turnkey proposals
  • Making accurate cost estimates, writing engineering reports and proposals, interpreting plans and specifications
  • Developing/ implementing custom demonstrations and training customers in the safe set up and operation of CNC machining centers, turning centers, Swiss style and/ or multi-tasking machines
  • Possessing and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of machine tool industry and product lines represented by the company

Required education and experience:

  • Associates degree in a related technical field plus two years of experience in a machine tool related field, or five to seven years' experience in a related position.
  • Bachelors degree in related field is preferred

Skills:

  • Knowledge of swiss lathe M and G models is a must.
  • The ability to design special tools is a plus.
  • Knowledge of speeds, feeds and experience calculating cycle times and chip loads is needed.
  • Ability to develop & execute complete Swiss CNC process’ including programming, tooling, setup, optimization & runoff.
  • Candidates with cam software experience such as Esprit and/or Partmaker is preferred.
  • Candidates with experience developing macro programs for families of parts and common operations is required.
  • Adaptability, customer relation & teaching skills a must.
  • Ability to work independently.

Welder - Florence, KY

We are looking for a Welder to work in our Fabrication department at our Florence, KY headquarters. Welders weld and sand sheet metal parts to engineering specifications on the blueprints. This is a second shift position working Monday through Thursday 3:30pm to 2:00am.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding prints and other drawings.
  • Select parts from laser cutting/press brake operation to weld and align parts according to specifications.
  • Weld parts to specific tolerances.
  • Modify or redesign existing parts if necessary.
  • Sand, grind, buff, taper and or tap fabricated parts to drawing specifications.
  • Design and build fixtures jigs to use in welding and assembly operations.
  • Must be able to set up and run MIG welding machines.
  • Operate overhead crane and use various hand tools including saws, shears, drills and grinders.
  • Prepare fabricated parts for painting
  • Visually inspect each part that is ready for paint.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Skills:

  • Mig welding experience
  • Familiar with metric system
  • Blueprint reading experience
  • Autobody sanding experience is a plus
  • Must be knowledgeable of weld shrinkage factors and various welding techniques.
  • Must successfully pass entry-level test administered by Mazak.

Required education and experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Vocational school is preferred
