Mazak is looking for a Junior Network and Security Administrator to join the IT Team. The role of the Junior Network and Security Administrator is to ensure the stable and secure operation of the network infrastructure across all Mazak North America sites. This includes configuring, deploying, supporting, and monitoring all network hardware and software in a primarily Cisco environment.

This individual will also be the primary resource for the deployment, management, and support for all security applications and platforms such as anti-virus, email security, web content filtering, and other threat management systems.

Scope and Responsibilities:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Configure, support, and monitor network infrastructure– includes routers, switches, wireless controllers, AP’s – in both local and across Wide Area Networks in a primarily Cisco environment.
  • Configure and deploy firewall solutions – includes VPN, DMZ design, and disaster recovery considerations.
  • Plan, design, and deploy network hardware / software upgrades as needed 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve business critical infrastructure failures.

The Material Handler / Receiving Clerk will work with the Mazak Purchasing Agents on a daily basis regarding suppliers and shipments. They will also keep records to help with inventory control, handle invoices, and help with loading and unloading of shipments in the receiving department.

Scope and Responsibilities:

As the Expeditor Assistant, you will be essential in maintaining the flow of parts within the department. V100 Line Helper - Florence, KY - Temporary

Mazak is searching for a 2nd shift temporary Line Helper to assist the V100 operators. This position assists the operators to allow them to focus on the part quality on the line as well as keeping the machines loaded and ready to go into production. We utilize dual pallets on each machine so this work can be done outside the running machine to ensure we can maximize our run times and keep utilization high. This individual needs to be highly motivated and work well in a team environment to help maximize this effort.

Scope and Responsibilities:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
  • Ability to assist the operator to set up the machine using an overhead crane to position jig bases on the pallet for cutting.  This requires using general hand tools, tape measure, wrenches to align and bolt down to fixture.
  • Bending over, going up and down the steps to the machine area, standing is required for this position to assist with these types of set ups and general work on the line.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs for taking tooling in and out of tool carts.
  • Will be required to use our coolant fill totes and fill up pre mixed coolant and push down to each machine for fill up on the machine sumps.
  • Will assist with any clean up on machines once parts are finished running.  The use of brooms, squeegies are used for this purpose in and around the machine when necessary.
  • Familiar with general hand tooling along with pneumatic air tools for use on the line.
  • This line consists of 4 large machining centers that are in a bay approx. 400 ft long.  Walking between the machines will be required to assist where needed thru out the shift.

Education/Certification:

CNC Grinder Operator – Florence, KY

CNC Grinder Operator – Florence, KY

The CNC Grinder Operator works in Mazak's Flexible Manufacturing Department at our Florence, KY Headquarters. This is a second shift position working 3:30pm to 2:00am Monday through Thursdays.

The Grinder Operator operates, set-up and inspects various production parts on Manual & CNC grinding equipment. Both Internal & Outside diameter grinders are used to make production parts. Will run to print specifications and inspect all parts made to verify tolerancing. This position will record this information on provided check sheets utilizing calibrated gaging from our Quality Department.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
  • Set up of grinders to prepare for grinding operation. Includes loading parts by hand and or by overhead crane into machine.
  • Needs to be familiar with the metric system for setup and inspection.
  • Needs to be familiar with dial indicators, Mahre Indicators, Ring gages, Snap Gages, Micrometers (ID/OD) to perform the needed checks on the parts.
  • Needs to be familiar with the grinding process as it is not a mill or lathe function. Grinding is taking material off at a micron level with the highest precision possible.
  • Able to finesse the parts to make the most accurate parts, this includes operating the equipment, adjusting thru the entire process.
  • Past experience is required with grinding to understand this process. Lathe turning is very similar only the amount of stock is much, much smaller.
  • Needs to understand what a micron is and be ability to document results. The speed of material removal, depth of cut, all factor into a good part. Temperature can in most cases cause a part to deviate out of spec as the tolerancing is so tight. Grinder operators must know the process and how each of these affect part quality.
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to follow directions and work in a team environment.

Education/Certification:

  • High School Diploma
  • Vocational training is preferred
  • Associate degree in machining or manufacturing is preferred

Skills:

  • Mechanical aptitude is a must
  • Previous experience in a related position such as Machinist, Lathe Operator or Grinder Operator

Mazak is looking for a Southeast Regional Service Manager to join the Service team at the Southeast Technology Center. The Regional Service Manager is accountable to manage the Service Techs, Coordinators and Contractors engaged in the installation, service, and repair of Mazak equipment and machinery at customer sites in an assigned region.

Essential Job Functions:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Establishes goals; develops and implements plans to ensure achievement of assigned goals.
  • Plans, assigns, and directs service work.
  • Interacts daily with customers and employees as required.
  • Receives customer request for service assistance.
  • Provides pay work estimates and quotes to external customers as required.
  • Initiates and assigns Field Service job orders.
  • Maintains services records in a Field Service database.
  • Prepares and reviews invoices for pay work.
  • Provides work scope information to internal customers as required.
  • Prepares and provides project schedule when required.
  • Receives and analyzes Service Representative’s inquiries.
  • Provides technical data or specific instructions to facilitate customer machine solutions.
  • Evaluates service activity on machines in and out of warranty to determine whether servicing will be on a charge or no-charge basis.
  • Initiates requests for repair parts.
  • Coordinates and expedites as required, repair parts to obtain realistic delivery dates.
  • Suggests and schedules investigative tests, repair, and rebuild as required.
  • Assists customers to resolution on issues associated with the company’s machine problems.
  • Develops, coaches and/or mentors direct reports.
  • Ensures consistent application of company policies and practices.
  • Handles unusual or difficult inquiries/situations through direct personal action or refers issue to the appropriate individual.
  • Compiles database of recurring complaints or problems on machines or with company personnel, and solutions for future reference.
  • Develops and implements training plans for direct reports.
  • Schedules and approves overtime, takes disciplinary action, as necessary.
  • Establishes and controls budgets.
  • Works overtime and/or off-shifts as required by business needs.
  • Works and interacts with other people on a regular basis.
  • Supervises service technicians in the assigned region.
  • Carries out all supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Interviews, hires, and trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; completes performance evaluations; initiates salary adjustments; addresses complaints and resolves problems.

Required education and experience:

  • Three to six months related experience and/or training.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project.

Education/Certification:

Mazak is looking for a Tool Room Operator to join the Flexible Manufacturing Department on first shift at our Florence, KY Headquarters. The Tool Room Operator is responsible for the changing and rotation of the tooling for the FMF Production Operation. This is a second shift position working Monday through Thursday 3:30pm to 2:00am.

Scope and Responsibilities

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
  • Work with both manual and automatic presetting devices to accurately measure tooling for production needs

Required education and experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is required
  • Associate’s degree is preferred
  • Trade School certificate is preferred

Skills:

  • Experience as CNC Machinist/Lathe background working directly with tooling and setup
  • Experience as a hands-on tooling operator in the tool and die industry
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds

We are looking for a Welder to work in our Fabrication department at our Florence, KY headquarters. Welders weld and sand sheet metal parts to engineering specifications on the blueprints. This is a second shift position working Monday through Thursday 3:30pm to 2:00am.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding prints and other drawings.
  • Select parts from laser cutting/press brake operation to weld and align parts according to specifications.
  • Weld parts to specific tolerances.
  • Modify or redesign existing parts if necessary.
  • Sand, grind, buff, taper and or tap fabricated parts to drawing specifications.
  • Design and build fixtures jigs to use in welding and assembly operations.
  • Must be able to set up and run MIG welding machines.
  • Operate overhead crane and use various hand tools including saws, shears, drills and grinders.
  • Prepare fabricated parts for painting
  • Visually inspect each part that is ready for paint.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Skills:

  • Mig welding experience
  • Familiar with metric system
  • Blueprint reading experience
  • Autobody sanding experience is a plus
  • Must be knowledgeable of weld shrinkage factors and various welding techniques.
  • Must successfully pass entry-level test administered by Mazak.

Required education and experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Vocational school is preferred
