CNC Grinder Operator – Florence, KY

CNC Grinder Operator – Florence, KY

Mazak is looking for a Grinder Operator to work in our Flexible Manufacturing department at our Florence, KY headquarters. The Grinder Operator operates, sets-up and inspects various production parts on Manual & CNC grinding equipment. Both Internal & Outside diameter grinders are used to make production parts. Will run to print specifications and inspect all parts made to verify tolerancing. This position will record this information on provided check sheets utilizing calibrated gaging from our Quality Department. This is a second shift position working Monday through Thursday 3:30pm to 2:00am.

Essental Job Functions:

  • Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
  • Set up of grinders to prepare for grinding operation. Includes loading parts by hand and or by overhead crane into machine.
  • Needs to be familiar with the metric system for setup and inspection.
  • Needs to be familiar with dial indicators, Mahre Indicators, Ring gages, Snap Gages, Micrometers (ID/OD) to perform the needed checks on the parts.
  • Needs to be familiar with the grinding process as it is not a mill or lathe function. Grinding is taking material off at a micron level with the highest precision possible.
  • Able to finesse the parts to make the most accurate parts, this includes operating the equipment, adjusting thru the entire process.
  • Past experience is required with grinding to understand this process. Lathe turning is very similar only the amount of stock is much, much smaller.
  • Needs to understand what a micron is and be ability to document results. The speed of material removal, depth of cut, all factor into a good part. Temperature can in most cases cause a part to deviate out of spec as the tolerancing is so tight. Grinder operators must know the process and how each of these affect part quality.
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to follow directions and work in a team environment.

Skills:

  • Mechanical aptitude is a must
  • Previous experience in a related position such as Machinist, Lathe Operator or Grinder Operator
  • Ability to setup and output accurate parts to meet production demand.

Mazak is looking for a CNC Lathe Operator to work in our Flexible Manufacturing department located at our Florence, KY headquarters. The Lathe Operators are responsible for setting up, running and or test cutting production parts to meet our planned schedules and quality requirements. This is a second shift position working 3:30pm to 2:00am Monday through Thursday.

Essental Job Functions:

  • Test cut parts to print specification for size, shape and tolerancing.
  • Utilize Mazatrol programming for operation of CNC lathe equipment.

  • Set up of parts using chucks, jaws & steady rests for work holding of the raw materials.
  • Set up of work holding tables for automated systems to load machines from in an automated environment.

Field Service Team Leader - Houston, TX

The Field Service Team Leader will have the responsibility to support, schedule, and manage a group of field technicians along with support to our local sales staff. This position reports to the Regional Service Manager out of our Southwest Technology Center located in Houston, TX.

Scope and Responsibilities:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Duties will include scheduling regional service engineers and telephone support to our customers on their CNC Lathes and Machining Centers. The ability to maintain a high degree of customer service with our customers and adhere to our service management principles is key.
  • Responsible for the training and development of your service team. Need to be able to promote growth within the service team.
  • Some travel will be required to meet with customers and service engineers to gain firsthand knowledge of the issue at hand and develop a plan for solution of the issue.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and software problems on machines and accessories at Via the phone and using virtual technology.
  • Perform diagnostic tests using voltage and vibration meters, oscilloscopes, computer software, indicators, balancers and other diagnostic equipment.

  • Install machines and accessories at customer sites. Installation includes all necessary assembly, leveling, aligning, adjusting, calibrating and wiring of machines and accessories.

Essental Job Functions:

  • Assemble and repair machine tool spindles
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems of machine tool spindles
  • Disassemble and write clear and concise reports for each job
  • Use Microsoft Excel to place parts orders
  • Maintain testing equipment
  • Keep a clean and safe work Environment
  • Follow Check sheets to build spindles back to OEM specifications

Welder - Florence, KY

Welder - Florence, KY

We are looking for a Welder to work in our Fabrication department at our Florence, KY headquarters. Welders weld and sand sheet metal parts to engineering specifications on the blueprints. This is a second shift position working Monday through Thursday 3:30pm to 2:00am.

Essental Job Functions:

  • Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding prints and other drawings.
  • Select parts from laser cutting/press brake operation to weld and align parts according to specifications.
  • Weld parts to specific tolerances.
  • Modify or redesign existing parts if necessary.
  • Sand, grind, buff, taper and or tap fabricated parts to drawing specifications.
  • Design and build fixtures jigs to use in welding and assembly operations.
  • Must be able to set up and run MIG welding machines.
  • Operate overhead crane and use various hand tools including saws, shears, drills and grinders.
  • Prepare fabricated parts for painting
  • Visually inspect each part that is ready for paint.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Skills:

  • Mig welding experience
  • Familiar with metric system
  • Blueprint reading experience
  • Autobody sanding experience is a plus
  • Must be knowledgeable of weld shrinkage factors and various welding techniques.
  • Must successfully pass entry-level test administered by Mazak.

Required education and experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Vocational school is preferred
