Mazak Corporation’s Northeast Applications department is looking for an Applications Engineer to join the team at our Northeast Technology Center located in Windsor Locks, CT. The Applications Engineer will assist Sales staff by providing technical information on the use of Mazak machine tools to produce customer parts/products, efficiently and with robust quality.

Scope and Responsibilities:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide part processing / Machine recommendations to best produce customer parts as the stated part volumes.

The Automation Project Engineer performs tasks ranging from initial concept development/ proposal to design and execution of industrial robot automation solutions (including electrical / electronics, software, pneumatics & hydraulics) hardware for Mazak Corp supplied system solutions, components and automation.

Scope and Responsibilities:

Mazak Corporation is looking for a Grinder Operator to join the Flexible Manufacturing department at our Florence, KY headquarters. Will run to print specifications and inspect all parts made to verify tolerancing. This position will record this information on provided check sheets utilizing calibrated gaging from our Quality Department. This is a second shift position. Second shift hours are Monday through Thursday, 3:30pm to 2:00am.

Scope and Responsibilities:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Set up of grinders to prepare for grinding operation. Includes loading parts by hand and or by overhead crane into machine.
  • Needs to be familiar with the metric system for setup and inspection.
  • Needs to be familiar with dial indicators, Mahre Indicators, Ring gages, Snap Gages, Micrometers (ID/OD) to perform the needed checks on the parts.
  • Needs to be familiar with the grinding process as it is not a mill or lathe function. Grinding is taking material off at a micron level with the highest precision possible.
  • Able to finesse the parts to make the most accurate parts, this includes operating the equipment, adjusting thru the entire process.
  • Past experience is required with grinding to understand this process. Lathe turning is very similar only the amount of stock is much, much smaller.
  • Needs to understand what a micron is and be ability to document results. The speed of material removal, depth of cut, all factor into a good part. Temperature can in most cases cause a part to deviate out of spec as the tolerancing is so tight. Grinder operators must know the process and how each of these affect part quality.
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to follow directions and work in a team environment.

  • Vocational training is preferred
  • Associate degree in machining or manufacturing is preferred

Essential Job Functions:

  • Install a variety of parts and sub-assemblies onto machine tools as part of the manufacturing process
  • Read and interpret assembly drawings for new machines and components
  • Assure all parts required for complete assembly of machine are delivered to the assembly location
  • Align, adjust and modify sheet metal components to assure proper fit onto the machine
  • Install electrical components and parts needed for specific machines.
  • Visually inspect machines for appearance issues, notify lead/supervisor of bad welds, grinder marks, paint scrapes, etc.
  • Operate crane to lift and install heavy items: examples: hydraulic pump assembly, transformers, etc.
  • Use of walk behind forklift to transport parts
  • Use a variety of hand tools, including drills, grinders, and air-powered tools, when installing parts and sub-assemblies
  • Fill out necessary check sheet
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
  • Assist in the training of new employees when needed

Mazak Corporation’s North American Parts Center is looking for an International Customer Service Representative to provide aftermarket parts and accessories sales and support to customers in English and Spanish. The hours for this position are Monday through Friday 10:00am to 7:00pm.

Scope and Responsibilities:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Communicate professionally with customers in verbal or written English and Spanish.
  • Obtain serial number and customer information to validate customer account and machine registration. Provide the customer open account or registration information and assist through the registration process.
  • Document customer contacts through our customer service database.
  • Use Mazak electrical and mechanical part documentation to assist customers to identify Mazak part numbers.
  • Provide customers with quotations including price and availability information.
  • Enter part and accessory orders providing confirmation to customers including shipping requirements.
  • Provide customers with status information on orders including shipping status and tracking information. Expedite and communicate with internal departments as needed.
  • Provide customers with information for returning parts for repair or restocking.

Education/Certification:

  • High school graduate or equivalent. One to three years in a related position.

  • Experience with international shipping is not required but preferred.

We are looking for a Welder to work in our Fabrication department at our Florence, KY headquarters. Welders weld and sand sheet metal parts to engineering specifications on the blueprints. This is a second shift position working Monday through Thursday 3:30pm to 2:00am.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding prints and other drawings.
  • Select parts from laser cutting/press brake operation to weld and align parts according to specifications.
  • Weld parts to specific tolerances.
  • Modify or redesign existing parts if necessary.
  • Sand, grind, buff, taper and or tap fabricated parts to drawing specifications.
  • Design and build fixtures jigs to use in welding and assembly operations.
  • Must be able to set up and run MIG welding machines.
  • Operate overhead crane and use various hand tools including saws, shears, drills and grinders.
  • Prepare fabricated parts for painting
  • Visually inspect each part that is ready for paint.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
