TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION
SLANT TURN 550 TURNING CENTER
See the optional Re-Thread and Thread Start Point Compensation features of the Mazak SmoothG CNC on the SLANT TURN 550 Turning Center, a high-torque, heavy-duty, big-bore machine that specializes in large parts. Sandvik will demonstrate its Coromant's PrimeTurning™ method, with dedicated CoroTurn® Prime tools and software for multi-directional turning efficiency and productivity.
HCN-5000 HORIZONTAL MACHINING CENTER
The automation-ready HCN-5000 Horizontal Machining Center features a spacious work envelope and pallet size as well as a fast rapid traverse speed. We'll demonstrate the SMOOTH Orbiturn programming function that adds turning capability for specific features on large, cumbersome parts. Sandvik will demonstrate its “SpiroGrooving” system, which creates face grooves on a machining center with an adjustable toolholder and two turning and boring inserts.
VCN530C/2PC VERTICAL MACHINING CENTER
Built in the award-winning Mazak iSMART™ Factory in Florence, Kentucky, the VCN530C/2PC Vertical Machining Center offers high-speed tool-to-tool change times, a standard 30-tool magazine, and high-speed and high-torque spindle options, along with a two-pallet changer. Sandvik Coromant will demonstrate and compare tooling developed through additive manufacturing and conventional processes.
HQR-250MSY MULTI-TASKING TURNING CENTER
We'll show you the flexibility and efficiency of multi-turret machining on the HQR-250MSY Multi-Tasking Turning Center, which features high-volume DONE IN ONE® processing with a twin-spindle, twin-turret configuration that machines from raw material to finished part in a single clamping. Sandvik Coromant will demonstrate its Y-axis parting method, which aligns the Y-axis tool with the Y-axis for better cutting force distribution and blade stiffness.
