WHAT TO EXPECT

Presented in partnership with Sandvik Coromant, the Innovative Machining Techniques Lunch & Learn event will offer attendees a chance to see some of Mazak's most exciting machine tools and learn from the tooling experts at Sandvik. Presentations will include:

  • PrimeTurning™ - An overview of the innovative technique that uses the CoroTurn® Prime tool to realize productivity gains through multi-directional turning
  • Y-axis Parting - A discussion of a new method for parting off with CoroCut® by feeding the tool in the Y axis
  • Silent Tools™ 5-axis Machining - A look at how Silent Tools helps shops boost their efficiency long overhang, vibration-free 5-axis machining.

TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION

Attendees will have the chance to see live demonstrations on several Mazak machines, including the QUICK TURN NEXUS 450-II, a CNC turning center that brings together advanced technology, productivity and value to deliver exceptional performance for shops of all sizes. Designed to provide all the versatility of the QUICK TURN NEXUS series with its powerful, integral spindle motor, the QUICK TURN NEXUS 450-II is also equipped with a large spindle bore and three different bed lengths to easily accommodate larger diameter workpieces.

The Kentucky-built QTU-200MSY is a versatile, small-footprint CNC Turning Center with Multi-Tasking capabilities that brings maximum efficiency, reliability and value to those processing medical devices from aluminum, engine parts from cast iron, electronic enclosures from steel and much more. It features a main turning spindle, second spindle for DONE IN ONE® part processing, tool turret with rotary milling spindle and Y-axis off-centerline capabilities for Multi-Tasking part processing.

The VC-500A/5X Vertical Machining Center, also produced in Kentucky, has a trunnion-style rotary/tilt table that allows for the accurate, cost-effective processing of small complex parts via full 5-axis machining. The machine comes equipped with a robust, high-performance standard spindle that delivers exceptional metal removal capabilities for all common materials, including steel, aluminum and cast iron.
