WHAT TO EXPECT
October is Manufacturing Month and Dream It Do It OKI and I Made It In NKY is partnering to expose students to the exciting world of manufacturing by convening the Making It Real – Girls & Manufacturing Program. Making It Real - Girls & Manufacturing is a series of summits designed to expose female middle and high school students to 21st Century Manufacturing. This program provides students and educators an opportunity to learn about today’s manufacturing workplace directly from women business leaders and discover the skills needed to be successful in manufacturing careers. Over 300 female students from several schools have registered to attend.
About Dream It Do It OKI - Dream It Do It OKI is a national platform sponsored locally by Partners for a Competitive Workforce and TechSolve to change the perception of manufacturing and inspire the next generation of workers to pursue manufacturing careers. Since 2013, DIDI OKI engaged over 3000 students, 300 educators and more than 200 manufacturers. More than 15,000 individuals visited the dreamitdoitoki website.
About I Made It In NKY - The Advanced Manufacturing Workforce Development Coalition sponsors the I Made It In NKY campaign to promote careers in the field of advanced manufacturing. Fresh with the faces of millennials who work right now in Northern Kentucky companies, the new campaign resonates with individuals’ pride in their chosen careers. The campaign’s anthem is “I made it in NKy.” The campaign calls people to learn more at www.IMadeItNKY.com.
