Made in Kentucky, the new VTC-805G vertical traveling column machining center with SMOOTH TECHNOLOGY brings high versatility and productivity to extremely long, heavy parts production. The machine has a longer Y-axis stroke, faster rapid traverse speeds, enhanced tool storage and optimized CNC programming than its predecessor.
Through the SMOOTH TECHNOLOGY process-performance platform, the VTC-805G offers unmatched speed, functionality and ease of use during production. Key elements of the platform are optimized CNC programming, new hardware, the latest in high-speed servo systems and improved ergonomics.
The VTC-805G features a fixed table and moving column design that can accommodate parts up to 32.3" high x 32.3" deep x 118" wide. The machine’s powerful 50-taper, 40-hp, optional 10,000-rpm spindle easily tackles a wide variety of materials including titanium, aluminum, steel and cast iron. With an optional center partition, it is possible to transform the machine’s table into two separate work areas where the machine processes parts on one side, while operators load/unload parts on the other for an overall reduction in cycle times.
Featuring a completely new design structure for the VTC line, the machine’s special turret-style magazine with 10 four-tool-position units makes it possible for the VTC-805G to maintain the same footprint size whether it stores the standard 24 or optional 40 tools. Other benefits of the design include tooling versatility for different workpiece types and reduced job setup times.
The VTC-805G features the new MAZATROL SmoothG CNC that makes it easy to generate programs for off-centerline machining as well as angled drilling, milling and tapping operations. Several innovative programming, performance and monitoring functions bring optimum speed and accuracy to complex part production. Advanced hardware including a tilting CNC panel and intuitive, multi-touch control screen allows for complete ease of use, while an SD card stores up to 32GB of program data.
