Advanced Technology Drives 40 Years of Manufacturing

Technology has changed the world, and nowhere else is that more evident than in today’s manufacturing industry. Advancements in machine tool technology, automation and digital connectivity, for instance, have evolved yesterday’s stereotypical smoke stack factories into those that can only be described as sleek, lean, agile and extremely productive.

These technologies include Flexible Manufacturing Systems (FMS), multi-function/multi-tasking machines and 5-face/5-axis machining capability along with advanced automation and the MTConnect protocol. As these technologies continue to progress, they’ve allowed manufacturers to continuously increase machine utilization, shorten throughput times, eliminate non-value added operations, boost quality and optimize part machining.

Our company has been instrumental in pioneering and propagating these technologies not only for our customers but also for our own manufacturing operations. In fact, we’re continuously investing in the improvement of our factory, especially when it comes to new equipment that can give us greater flexibility and higher output in accordance with customer demand.

We began our forward-thinking manufacturing venture in 1974 assembling machines in Florence, Kentucky and quickly expanding our vertical integration within the machine tool market. And while we’ve been building machine tools for 40 years, we are most definitely not doing it the same way or with the same technology we did when we first opened our original 12,000-square-foot North American factory.

For us, our advancements in manufacturing technology (machine tools and automation) have continuously ensured the success of our customers, while also shaping our operations into what they are today – an 800,000 square-foot, five-building manufacturing campus with the capacity to produce 200 machine tools per month, as well as the resources to design and export them.

At IMTS 2014, you’ll experience the fruits of our labor over the past 40 years when you watch the latest, most advanced manufacturing solutions perform the world’s most innovative turning, milling, 5-axis, Multi-Tasking and automation processes for overcoming specific part-production challenges.
