Yamazaki Mazak Corporation has announced the start of sales of the compact #40 taper spindle horizontal machining center, the FF-5000/40, which is designed for the mass-production of automotive components.
Production equipment used for the high-volume machining of automotive components requires high productivity, high reliability, extremely convenient maintenance, and integration with high performance automation.
The new FF-5000/40 is designed to provide unsurpassed performance in meeting the important requirements listed above. The high speed acceleration of the X, Y, and Z axes ensures high productivity. Reliability is assured by the Direct ATC system (tools are directly changed to/from the spindle to the tool magazine) which has a much smaller number of components when compared to a normal tool changer system. The spindle cartridge or slideway covers are easily changed to minimize the production downtime required for maintenance. This compact machine with fixed table design can easily be integrated in automated production lines designed for large volume production.
The standard MAZATROL SmoothC CNC incorporates the latest hardware and software technology to realize unprecedented speed and precision and is designed for unsurpassed ease of operation. The FF-5000/40 is also available with the Fanuc CNC system.
