The Applications Engineer will assist Sales staff by providing technical information on the use of Mazak machine tools to produce customer parts/products, efficiently and with robust quality.

Scope and Responsibilities:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for identifying training and development needs of your service team.

  • Coordinates and expedites as required, repair parts to obtain realistic delivery dates.
  • Oversees / manages overtime, takes disciplinary action in coordination with the service manager, as necessary.

The Tax Manager is responsible for managing the tax accounting staff, facilitating and managing the preparation of the company’s federal tax return, and ensuring accurate, timely filing of state and local income tax returns and other business-related tax filings. Scope and Responsibilities:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Prepare annual tax provision including computation of book to tax differences
• Assist in the calculation of international tax calculations
• Global Intangible Low-Taxed Income (GILTI),
• The Foreign-Derived Intangible Income (FDII) deduction and foreign source income and expense allocations
• Base Erosion & Anti-Abuse Tax (BEAT)
• Preparation of all information required to complete the federal income tax returns
• Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison between company and external tax advisors
• Prepare and review 45 multi-state corporate income tax returns
• Create all apportionment data for income tax/business/franchise tax purposes
• Prepare and make estimated quarterly tax payments

• Manage transfer pricing policies and support transfer pricing reports prepared by third parties by providing all requested information.

• Coordinate state appeals of property tax valuation
• Calculate semiannual tax budgets for Sales Tax, Property Tax and Business Tax
• Manage and facilitate audits (income, sales & use, and property tax)
• Proactively manage and maintain tax compliance deadlines
• Manage, coach, and mentor 2 tax accountants
• Communicate with accounting/finance team regularly for any tax related issues
• Review and respond to all tax notices received
• Year end financial Audit Documentation for tax related reserve and accrual accounts
• Perform special ad hoc tax projects as they arise
• Stay informed of upcoming tax changes and consider impact to company
• Review monthly journal entries for tax and fixed assets
• Assess the Canada Intercompany payable/receivable accounts

Education/Certification:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Tax, Accounting, Finance)
• CPA certification preferred

Skills:

• Minimum of seven years of experience in tax is required, preferably within a corporate tax department or public accounting firm
• Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills
• Experience training, motivating and leading a team
