WHAT TO EXPECT

Mazak’s vice president of manufacturing Ben Schawe will present on “Building the Mazak iSMART Factory™” at the NCDMM SUMMIT – the organization’s premier annual event for encouraging collaboration and innovation among government, industry and academia. The event provides opportunities to meet, network, brainstorm and partner with colleagues from throughout government, industry and academia.

Schawe holds a BS in Manufacturing Engineering from Northern Kentucky University and has been at Mazak for 37 years in various capacities as national application engineering manager, machining manager, engineering manager and plant manager. As the vice president of manufacturing, Schawe was intensely instrumental in the full digital integration of Mazak’s Kentucky manufacturing plant and its continued transformation into an Mazak iSMART Factory™.

The Mazak iSMART Factory™ uses advanced manufacturing cells and systems together with full digital integration to achieve free-flow data sharing in terms of process control and operation monitoring.
