The cornerstone of lean and productive manufacturing is the application of the proper amount of automation.  Skilled labor is a precious and costly commodity and today’s factories need to leverage manpower as never before.  Mazak offers many levels of automation, from simple ideas like parts catchers, to Flexible Manufacturing Cells that allow true “lights-out” production.

AUTOMATION FOR TURNING CENTERS

Bar-feeders allow for continuous batch runs of workpieces that can be fed through a through-hole chuck.
Our Parts Catchers are often teamed with bar-feeders to automatically unload finished parts and place them in a container. Maximum part weight is 5.5 lbs.
The Mazak-developed Cut-Feeder provides precision blanks to be loaded into the chuck. It runs adjacent to the CNC machine. Its unique design has elements of a bar-feeder in queuing material, but it can also accommodate unusual shapes like extruded sections, tube-like blanks, and traditional round blanks too large for through-hole applications.
GL Series Gantry Robots are very effective in automatically loading raw material and unloading finished parts during a lengthy production run.

ON-MACHINE MESAUREMENT FOR ALL MAZAK CNC MACHINE TOOLS

Touch-probes are supported on all Mazak machines to perform precise measurements of critical features, perform tool wear corrections, and monitor machining accuracy during unattended operations.

AUTOMATION FOR MACHINING CENTERS

Our Vertical Center Nexus 510C features a generous working volume, your choice of 12,000 or 15,000 rpm spindles and an Automatic Two-Pallet Changer for maximum throughput.
A Fourth-axis CNC Control is available for simultaneous machining with an NC rotary table on Nexus vertical machining centers.
Robotic Work Cells are built to your needs on a turnkey basis. Machine tending, automatic inspection and certain secondary operations (de-burring, finishing) can be performed within the part cycle. 720 hours per month of non-stop production can be achieved!
A pre-engineered 6-Pallet Changer is offered with all Mazak horizontal machining centers. It is ideal for unmanned operation over limited periods and may be added to the machine tool at any time.
