Mazak Relocates Large Parts Storage to North American Parts Center

Florence, Kentucky, September 2, 2009 – Mazak today announced the improvement of large parts storage at its North American Parts Center. Centrally located in Florence, Kentucky, the Parts Center houses more than 1,500 large and heavy parts, including spindles, ATC units, chucks and cylinders, motors, linear guides, ball screws, hydraulic units and way covers.

"Large and heavy parts were previously stored at remote warehouses," said Brian Papke, President, Mazak Corporation. "By relocating these products to our North American Parts Center, we will not only improve inventory management and efficiency but also have the ability to provide customers with same-day shipping."

Mazak's North American Parts Center is home to a $60 million inventory that includes everything from common wear items to major units to ensure guaranteed availability of parts support for the life of Mazak machines. The Parts Center supports the whole of Mazak's North and South American customer base, and with the support of experienced part specialists with access to global inventory, achieves same-day shipping on 97.5% of orders placed.

Customers can also place and review orders for spare parts at https://parts.mazakcorp.com. The site enables visitors to easily peruse through the catalog of over 46,000 unique part numbers, view past orders and track the shipping progress of current orders.

Additional storage space of 18,500 sq.ft. is used to accommodate large and heavy parts at the Mazak North American Parts Center.
