(WINDSOR LOCKS, CONNECTICUT) – Mazak Corporation, the world’s largest producer of advanced technology, multi-tasking machine tools, is hosting an open house at its Northeast Headquarters and Technology Center in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, on Wednesday, April 9, 2008, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The event will focus on manufacturing for the aerospace industry, the medical and semiconductor industries and related automation. Mazak is featuring multi-tasking technology for every industry. For example, demonstrations will be conducted for the aerospace community via remote satellite broadcast from the National Technology Center in Florence, Kentucky, on the INTERGEX e-RAMTEC V/8 Multi-Tasking Center, which combines vertical turning with five-axis machining for large parts, plus a separate ram spindle for milling and drilling inside of a deep bore. Maximum torque on the e-RAMTEC’s standard 10,000-rpm milling spindle is 311 ft.-lbs. An optional, 5,000-rpm spindle providing 546 ft.-lbs. of torque for work with hard materials like titanium is available. Automation also will be a focus of the open house, particularly Mazak’s Palletech Manufacturing Cell, which will be operating with a Mazak HORIZONTAL CENTER NEXUS 5000.

Other machines available for demonstrations at the Open House include the INTEGREX e-410HS Machining Center, VERTICAL CENTER NEXUS 410A-II, QUICK TURN NEXUS 200-II, and five-axis Machining Centers such as the VERTICAL CENTER NEXUS 510C-II 5X, VARIAXIS 630-5X II and VARIAXIS 730-5X II
