The 2009 Schaumburg Technology Days at Mazak's Midwest Headquarters and Technology far exceeded attendance expectations in these troubled times. Customers from job and contract shops, as well as the aerospace, medical, construction and paper industries traveled from as far north as Minnesota to learn more about steps to ensure continued profitability in a troubled economy.
Customers participated in hands-on demonstrations on advanced multi-tasking and 5-axis machines and enjoyed keynote speeches from:
Brian Papke, President of Mazak Corporation
John Israelsson, President of Sandvik Coromant
Matt Garran, Director of Technology at Great Lakes Wind Network
Bill Haas, American Wind Energy Association
Additionally, industry experts from the following Mazak strategic partners provided in-depth productivity solution seminars:
Fanuc Robots
Gibbs
Kennametal
LNS
Master Cam
Renishaw
SMW
Sandvik Coromant
The event also allowed Mazak to partner with customers to develop a range of projects over the next six months, many of which require the production of a variety of new machines. This investment in advanced machining processes will not only allow for the increase of profitability during lean times but also provide considerable advantages against the competition when the economy rebounds.
