Florence, Kentucky, June 9, 2009 –
Mazak was recently awarded Supplier Quality Excellence Process Certification
from Caterpillar, Inc. The occasion marked the first time that Caterpillar has
bestowed a machine tool builder with the certification.
Caterpillar’s
Supplier Quality Excellence Process Certification results from a comprehensive
effort to support the company’s culture of ‘zero-defects’ across its supply
base. The prestigious status also requires recipients to exhibit excellent
process control, pursue continuous improvement and display strong values and
ethical principles in conducting business
ISO 9001:2000
certification is required to be considered for Caterpillar’s certification
program, which examines and evaluates a company’s performance via nine distinct
modules. Caterpillar retains and examines extensive documentation and
measurements to quantify whether a business partner is qualified to receive the
Supplier Quality Excellence Process Certification.
